29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, pinch points, flying chips and sparks: (a) In the Steel Department, in the new building expansion, on the checker machine for the TA2 steering column, the pinch points for the clamps were inadequately guarded in that a cylinder was removed that resulted in the closing cycle for the 4 clamps would not stop if the light curtain was penetrated.
