Southern Craftsmen Associates, Inc., Lawrenceville, GA - An employee was spray painting wooden parts using flammable materials. The spray booth under construction had two of the walls made of plywood and particle board, and another one of sheetrock, on or about 2/19/13.

29 CFR 1910.107(c)(6):  Electrical wiring and equipment not subject to deposits of combustible residues but located in a spraying area as herein defined were not explosion-proof type approved for Class I, group D locations and did not otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part, for Class I, Division 1, Hazardous Locations. Electrical wiring, motors, and other equipment outside of but within twenty (20) feet of any spray area, and not separated therefrom by partitions, produced sparks under normal operating conditions and did not otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations:   a) Southern Craftsmen Associates, Inc., Lawrenceville, GA - An employee was spray painting wooden parts using flammable materials. Electrical outlets and equipment used inside the spraybooth were not explosion proof, on or about 2/19/13.   b) Southern Craftsmen Associates, Inc., Lawrenceville, GA - Employees spraying Liongrip, a flammable adhesive, in the production room within 20 feet of electrical outlets and equipment were not of Class I, Division 2, on or about 2/19/13.
