29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) North end of the Insertion-Extraction trenches, on or about April 17, 2013, and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 6 feet, 10 feet and 15 feet when entering and exiting the ladder transition point to the 15 foot deep trench. Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
