29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about May 15, 2013, employees were tearing shingles off a commercial building without being protected from falling to lower levels. Family Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 704418, citation number 1, item number 1and was affirmed as a final order on November 27, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 213 Beltline Hwy., Madison, WI 53714.
