29 CFR 1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall or come against, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement: (a) Valencia Construction, Inc. @ 3988 Mt. Hope St., Wellington, CO 80549: On and before June 5th, 2013, the employer did not ensure subcontractor employees were protected from impalement hazards with exposed vertical rebar within a residential excavation while walking and working on the surface excavation. Subcontractor employees walked and worked near the edge of the excavation. The excavation was approximately 7 feet in depth. This condition exposed subcontractor employees to impalement hazards.
