29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    a)    On or about 8/27/2013, there was an unguarded auger in a trough along the east wall of the cutting line with an employee cleaning in the area of an approximately 12" x 9" opening.      c)    On or about 8/27/2013, there was an unguarded belt nip on the west end of the uncore conveyor with an approximate 5" gap approximately 4 1/2" from the frame of the conveyor.    d)    On or about 8/27/2013, there were several rusted out fan blade covers on core machine motors approximatly 76" from the floor on both sides of the return uncore conveyor.    e)    On or about 8/27/2013, there was an ingoing nip point on the transfer conveyor to room 6.    f)    On or about 8/27/2013, there was an unguarded area on the core machine approximately 36" wide x 15" to 24" high allowing access to the spinning cutter.     g)    On or about 8/27/2013, the Wilton horizontal bad saw in the maintenance shop did not have the unused portion of the blade guarded with approximatley 5" exposed.    h)    On or about 8/28/2013, the Balemaster micro switch was stuck and did not prevent compacting with the guard door open. Repaired by maintenance at time of inspection.    i)    On or about 8/28/2013, there was an auger in the waste leaf trough on a platform outside of the building that needed guarding in two locations. It was approximately 24" to the nip point from the railing on the platform.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
