29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  (a) The River of Kraut hopper auger had an unguarded section where the brine attachment used to be exposing employees to entanglement hazards.  (b) The Can Filler line had unguarded rotating parts on the outfeed side exposing employees to caught in and struck by hazards.  (c) The Can Filler line, where the employee(s) stood, had an opening in the guarding exposing employees to moving parts.  (d)  On the Can Filler line, the fill auger was not guarded exposing employees to rotating augers.  (e) The Seamer machine located at the end of the Can Fill Line had unguarded moving parts exposing employees to struck by hazards.  (f)  On the Gallon Filler line, the fill auger was not guarded exposing employees to rotating augers.  (g)  On the Glass Filler line, the fill auger was not guarded exposing employees to rotating augers.

The guard was not affixed to the trough exposing employees to entanglement hazards.   (b) The Can Filler had guards which were easily by-passed by pulling on a black handle out and then towards the employee.   (c) The Gallon Filler Line had guards which were easily by-passed by lifting a clip off one door and then the doors could be opened exposing employees to moving parts.
