Kenton Iron Products Inc. located in Kenton, Ohio: On or about December 2, 2013, The employer did not evaluate employee exposures to MDI. Employees performing molding operations using the Tinker Omega sand mixer were overexposed to methylene bisphenyl isocyanate (MDI) at 0.30 mg/m3 during a 15 minute exposure. This exceeded the OSHA ceiling exposure limit of 0.2 mg/m3 by 150% for the 15 minute sample.

If instantaneous monitoring is not feasible, then the ceiling shall be assessed as a 15-minute time weighted average exposure which shall not be exceeded at any time during the working day. a. Kenton Iron Products Inc. located in Kenton, Ohio: On or about December 2, 2013, employees performing molding operations using the Tinker Omega sand mixer were overexposed to methylene bisphenyl isocyanate (MDI) at 0.30 mg/m3 during a 15 minute exposure. Kenton Iron Products Inc. located in Kenton, Ohio: On or about August 24, 2013, an employee was exposed to MDI vapors at work while operating the sand mixer and was subsequently hospitalized.
