29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition At the Target Distribution Center in Dekalb, IL, the employer Pallet Companies Inc. dba IFCO Systems, placed a powered industrial truck (Yale S/N: B875V09991K) into service when it was not in a safe operating condition. The steering column was not secure, and created a distraction to the operator that could have contributed to an accident. There is no abatement documentation or certification required for this item.
