29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(6): Ladders were used on surfaces which were not stable and level: a- 11310 Sunset Terrace, Long Beach NJ: Company employees, at heights greater than six feet above the ground surface below, were utiilizing aluminum extension ladders to install windows and perform other related actvities to the exterior surface of a multi-story residential structure. The feet of these ladders were placed into sand making the ladders unstable. Condition noted on or about 09/24/13. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: a- 11310 Sunset Terrace, Long Beach NJ: Company employees, at heights greater than six feet above the ground surface below, were utiilizing aluminum extension ladders to install windows and perform other related actvities to the exterior surface of a multi-story residential structure. The feet of these ladders were placed into sand making the ladders unstable and sink into the sand when weight was applied. The company worksite employees had not recieved ladder safety training from the company. Condition noted on or about 09/24/13. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
