29 CFR 1926.55(a): Employee(s) were exposed to material(s) at concentrations above those specified in the Threshold Limit Values of Airborne Contaminants for 1970 of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists: Instance A On or about October 10, 2013 an employee performing abrasive blast operations was over exposed to air particulates such as but not limited to copper, zinc oxide, and iron oxide particulates. i. Employee was over exposed to copper particulates at an eight hour time weighted average of 1.04 milligrams per cubic meter, which exceeded the permissible exposure limit for copper particulate of 0.05 milligrams per cubic meter by 2,080%. ii. Employee was over exposed to zinc oxide particulates at an eight hour time weighted average of 74.03 milligrams per cubic meter, which exceeded the permissible exposure limit for zinc oxide particulate of 5 milligrams per cubic meter by 1,480%. iii. Employee was over exposed to iron oxide particulates at an eight hour time weighted average of 766.28 milligrams per cubic meter, which exceeded the permissible exposure limit for iron oxide particulate of 10 milligrams per cubic meter by 7,662%. Instance B On or about October 10, 2013 an employee operating the vacuum during abrasive blast operations was over exposed to air particulates such as but not limited to zinc and iron oxide particulates and particulates not otherwise regulated. i. Employee was over exposed to zinc oxide particulates at an eight hour time weighted average of 47.22 milligrams per cubic meter, which exceeded the permissible exposure limit for zinc oxide particulate of 5 milligrams per cubic meter by 944%. ii. Instance A On or about October 10, 2013 an employee performing abrasive blast operations was over exposed to air particulates such as but not limited to copper, zinc oxide, and iron oxide particulates. i.
