29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Draw Machine Area, on or about 10/22/13: Ingoing nip points at the capstan on a Vaughn Bull Block draw machine were not adequately guarded. b) Draw Machine Area, on or about 10/22/13: Ingoing nip points at the directional pulley stand for the Vaughn dead block coiler were not guarded. Abatement documentation must be submitted for these items. The Tecnofil Chenango SAC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 881463, Citation number 1, Item number 13 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/3/13, with respect to a workplace located at 40 South Main Street, Sherburne, New York.
