The platform overhead protection must not obscure the view of the operator or platform occupants (such as wire mesh that has up to a ½ inch openings), unless full protection is necessary. (a) On November 14, 2013, at the Admiral Bridge and I-29 job-site, Kansas City, MO., employees engaged in bridge repair work activities were exposed to serious injuries, in that the crane suspended personnel platform they were working from was not equipped with required overhead protection.
