CFR 1926.501(b) (13):  Each employee engaged residential construction activities 6 feet  (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems;    (a)        Arnold Construction, 3385 Heidelberg Dr., Boulder, CO 80305: On and before January 13, 2014, The exposing employer did not ensure an employee erecting pump jack scaffolding on a secondary roof was protected from a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet.        Abatement Note:  Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed Sample Abatement-Certification Worksheet).    Arnold Construction was previously cited for a violation of the same or substantially similar condition of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA Inspection 907862, Citation 1 Item 1 issued on June 19, 2013, and became Final Order on August 19, 2013 with respect to a workplace located at 2195 Stony Hill, Boulder, CO.

29 CFR 1926.502(b)(2)(i): Midrails were not installed at a height midway between the top edge if the guardrail system and the walking/working level.  (a)   Arnold Construction, 3385 Heidelberg Dr., Boulder, CO 80305: On and before January 13, 2014, the employer did not ensure that employees working in a remodeled home, were protected from falling approximately 8 feet, when the stairs to the basement did not have an adequate midrail.       Abatement Note:  Abatement certification is not required for this item (see enclosed Abatement-Certification Letter").

(a)    Arnold Construction, 3385 Heidelberg Dr., Boulder, CO 80305: On and before January 13, 2014, the employer did not ensure that an adequate midrail was installed on the stairway leading to the second level of a residential remodel.
