29 CFR 1915.73(d): When employees were exposed to unguarded edges of decks, platforms, flats, or similar flat surfaces, more than 5 feet above a solid surface, the edges were not guarded by adequate guardrails meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1915.71(j)(1) and (2). Onboard vessel POLARIS, portside: An employee was exposed to a fall of eight feet ten inches while working within three feet of the deck edge that was not guarded by adequate guardrails meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1915.71(i)(1) and (2).
