29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:    a) On or about 3/6/14 at a residential new build located at 41 Riley Meadows, Orchard Park, New York; employees were removing snow and installing shingles on the roof of a 2 story house with a 10 in 12 roof pitch. There was no fall protection in use.    NO CERTIFICATION ABATEMENT REQUIRED

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access:    a) On or about 3/6/14 at a residential new build located at 41 Riley Meadows, Orchard Park, New York; employees were using a straight ladder and extension ladders to access the work areas on the roof of a 2 story house. The side rails of the ladders did not extend 3 feet beyond the level being accessed.    NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
