29 CFR 1926.502(h)(1)(v): The safety monitor had other responsibilities which could take the monitor's attention from the monitoring function: a) Masin Roofing, Inc. on or about April 21, 2014, at the address of 7455 Erie St. Sylvania, OH: The employer failed to ensure the safety monitors only responsibility was the monitoring function. The designated worker charged with monitoring employees performing roofing work on a low slope roof, partook in activities such as fastening/installing roofing material. These actions took his attention away from employees working near the roofs perimeter. Employees were exposed to a potential 9 ft. fall to the ground below.
