29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Employees engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8m) or more above the lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Roof of residence on Lot 13 Northwynn subdivision Sharpsburg, Georgia. The employees were working from unprotected steep, 12 in 12, pitched roof without fall protection. The employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 20-feet 8-inches from the roof to ground level and approximately 8-feet from the roof to the next lower level, the back porch roof.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to upper landing surfaces, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access. a) Roof of residence at Lot 13 Northwynn subdivision, Sharpsburg, Georgia. The employees, working from unprotected steep, 12 in 12, pitched roof, were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 8-feet while mounting and dismounting an aluminum extension ladder. The ladder, which had been set up on the back porch roof to access the main roof, did not extend at least 3-feet above the upper landing surface.
