29 CFR 1926.404(b)(1)(iii)(C): Each cord set, attachment cap, plug and receptacle of cord sets, and any equipment connected by cord and plug, except cord sets and receptacles which are fixed and not exposed to damage, shall be visually inspected before each day's use for external defects, such as deformed or missing pins or insulation damage, and for indications of possible internal damage. Equipment found damaged or defective shall not be used until repaired. Topawa Location #13: On or about June 26, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees were using the power cord with a missing grounding pin to operate the Dewalt compressor for pneumatic tools exposing operators when handling the equipment to potential electrical hazards. Topawa Location #13: On or about June 26, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees were using extension cords with damage insulation to operators using the De Walt chopsaw for cutting steel exposing operators when handling the cord to potential electrical hazards. Topawa Location #13: On or about June 26, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees were using A 4 X 4 electrical box with a missing knockout to power portable hand grinders and saws. The bottom was not effectively closed exposing operators when handling the box to potential electrical hazards.
