29 CFR 1910.303(a): The conductors and/or equipment required or permitted by this subpart were not approved: (a) Jet Engine Shop, Bldg 931: On or about August 12, 2014 and at times prior thereto, the 15 foot power-supply cords of the Relocatable Power Taps (RPTs) were replaced with 50 foot cords. Note: Per the UL White Book (Relocatable Power Taps (XBYS)), "The length of the power-supply cord ........ should not exceed 25 ft (7.62 m) not be less than 1.5 ft (0.46 m).

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: (a) Jet Engine Shop, Bldg 931: On or about August 12, 2014 and at times prior thereto, Relocatable Power Taps (RPTs) supplied power to "Port-A-Cool" evaporative coolers which are 12.0 amp high draw loads. Note: Per the UL White Book (Relocatable Power Taps (XBYS)), RPTs are designed for a high concentration of low powered loads. (b) Jet Engine Shop, Bldg 931: On or about August 12, 2014 and at times prior thereto, Relocatable Power Taps (RPTs) were secured to the legs of jet engine stands. Note: Per the UL White Book (Relocatable Power Taps (XBYS)), "Relocatable power taps are not intended to be permanently secured to building structures, tables, work benches or similar structures, nor are they intended to be used as a substitute for fixed wiring".
