OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees On or about October 2, 2014, one employee was exposed to fall hazards while working in an elevated work platform, 12 feet high, on the forks of a Case Model #686G Telescopic Handler. The width of the platform was greater than 10 inches past the load bearing tires on each side. Among other methods, feasible abatement methods include following American National Standard, ANSI B56.6-2006 Safety Standard for Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks, Section 8.24.1(b): 1. Use a work platform that does not extend more than 10 inches on each side past the load bearing tires. 2. Use alternative means to elevate employees to working levels.
