29 CFR 1926.651(g)(2)(i): Emergency rescue equipment, such as breathing apparatus, a safety harness and line, or a basket stretcher, was not readily available where hazardous atmospheric conditions existed or could reasonably be expected to develop during trenching operations in contaminated soil. Jobsite: The employer did not ensure that competent persons and the emergence rescue equipment, such as (but not limited to) a safety harness and a line and a rescue basket were readily available onsite or utilized other means to perform emergency rescuing operation while employees were setting the bottom grade in the trench where hazardous atmospheric conditions existed from heavily contaminated soil.
