9 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level is not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:    (a) The employer does not ensure the use of fall protection during roofing work. The violation was most recently observed at 2712 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on November 5, 2014. Two (2) employees performing roofing activities on an 8:12 pitch roof were not adequately protected from fall hazards at heights of 15 feet and higher onto asphalt. The telehandler platform used on-site did not provide adequate fall protection.    To abate this violation, and to continue to comply with this occupational safety and health standard, the employer must ensure that its employees performing roofing work are protected from falls, and that no employee is allowed onto a roof or structure more than six (6) feet high without adequate fall protection at this jobsite and at all of employer's jobsites.      Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including a description of how these steps protect its employees from fall hazards. The employer has a continuing obligation to comply with 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), the OSH Act, and all relevant occupational safety and health standards.    STEINER'S QUALITY ROOFING, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent which was contained in OSHA inspection 314315326, Citation 01, Item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/21/2010 with respect to a workplace located at 3291 Alaska South Road Bozeman, Montana.    STEINER'S QUALITY ROOFING, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent which was contained in OSHA inspection 106489, Citation 01, Item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 4/2/2012 with respect to a workplace located at 10560 N Lakeview Hayden Lake, Idaho.
