OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees from the flame and infrared heat hazards generated by the natural gas heaters: (a) Facility, 1800 Paul Thomas Boulevard, Brownsville, PA: On or about February 27, 2015 the employer did not prevent employees from standing or passing within 60 inches of the Space-Ray infrared gas heater as listed in the manufacturer's instructions. An employee positioned themselves next to the heater and caught fire. The employee sustained 3rd degree burns to the backs of their legs. There were no barrier guards or other means to keep employees from getting too close to the heater.
