29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. On May 12, 2015, employees engaged in steel erection were exposed to a 22 foot fall while finish welding metal decking and the employer did not ensure that employees were properly utilizing fall protection. ALL STEEL IRON WORKS, INC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 107984, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on January 3, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 1430 N. Meacham Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
