The employees had not had medical evaluations to ensure they were healthy enough to wear respirators.

29 CFR 1910.134(f)(2): Employee(s) using a tight-fitting facepiece respirator were not annually fit tested: (Construction Reference 1926.103) On or about June 8, 2015, employees who were required at times to wear tight-fitting, negative pressure respirators had not been fit-tested within the past year. Employees who are responsible for cutting and/or grinding concrete and who do so without using wet methods are required to wear respirators to protect themselves from the hazards associated with crystalline silica exposure.
