29 CFR 1910.1026(j)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that all surfaces were maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of chromium (VI): BASF 120 Pine Street, Elyria, Ohio: On or about June 9, 2015, the employer did not ensure that the North Production Manager's office was maintained as clean as practicable of hexavalent chromium. Wipe sample results obtained from a mat on the floor of the Site Manager's office was 0.21 ug/100 cm2. Analysis of a wipe sample collected from the mat below the North Production Manager's chair where the North Production Manager worked and consumed food and drink revealed 7.25 ug/100 cm2 hexavalent chromium. BASF Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1026(j)(1)(I), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 975030, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on October 8, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 120 Pine Street, Elyria, Ohio.
