29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms or service rooms were not kept clean and orderly or in a sanitary condition. a) At the time of the inspection, the gutters in the pot lines were not kept cleaned out and maintained properly. Buildup of material in the gutters of Pot 63F caused molten metal that was escaping the pot to spill onto the production floor. An employee received 2nd and 3rd degree burns when he contacted the molten metal. b) At the time of the inspection, the spillage of material in the secondary building was not kept to a minimum. The buildup of material on stairs and passageways created a tripping and fall hazard.
