OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards while climbing on and over the railings of a self propelled elevating work platform:   a) 1211 E. Columbus Ave., Springfield, MA: on or about August 8, 2015, an employee was observed climbing on the railings of a JLG Sizzor lift more than 11 feet above the ground below to access the area on the  top of the gas station pump shroud.  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to comply with the American National Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms, ANSI/SAI A92.6 - 2006, American National Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms, including but not limited to:  a) Paragraph 7.10 (9) Personnel footing - personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon. Climbing by occupants on the midrail or toprail of the aerial platform is prohibited.
