29 CFR 1926.95(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it was necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact: a) Naval Medical Center Restore Cardiology Project, Lobby Area: Gloves (Model #25053) worn by employees were not appropriate for the tasks performed as they were 100 percent nylon, not cut or chemical resistant. Employees were exposed to laceration and skin irritation hazards while using utility knives and Centi 2001 West Set Adhesive.

29 CFR 1926.416(e)(1): Worn or frayed electric cords or cables shall not be used: a) Naval Medical Center Restore Cardiology Project, Lobby Area: Employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards while using a 110 VAC Milwaukee heat gun during the installation of vinyl flooring where the flexible power cord was frayed, broken and covered with tape.
