29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1) as required by 1960.8(b): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions: Adjacent to the north side of building 128, employees were installing six inch storm drain in a trench approximately 65 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 4 to 6 feet deep, and the employer failed to ensure that it was inspected by a competent person.
