29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Rt 130 & Union Landing Rd., Cinnaminson, NJ: On or about Jan. 27, 2016 an employee of L&G Construction using a 6 inch wide structural beam as his walking working surface while conducting framing work on a single story commercial structure. The beam was 11.6 feet above the concrete floor and the employee was not using any form of fall protection, exposing him to the fall hazard.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who was exposed to fall hazards that enabled each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) Rt 130 & Union Landing Rd., Cinnaminson, NJ: On or about Jan. 27, 2016 an employee of L&G Construction using a 6 inch wide structural beam as his walking working surface while conducting framing work on a single story commercial structure and was not using any form of fall protection. The employee was exposed to fall hazards of greater than 11 feet and had not been trained to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.29
