29 CFR 1910.178(f)(2): The storage and handling of liquefied petroleum gas fuel was not in accordance with NFPA No. 58-1969, Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases: Section 5.1: General: "Containers when stored inside shall not be located near exits, stairways or in areas normally used or intended for the safe exit of people." Instance #1: On or about 04/12/2016, Receiving entrance/ warehouse hallway area: LPG tanks were stored near the warehouse receiving entrance and warehouse hallway areas exposing employees to fire hazards while working at the areas. Section 5.2(a): Storage within Buildings Frequented by the Public: The total quantity on display and in storage shall not exceed 200 pounds LP-Gas" Instance #2: On or about 04/12/2016, Receiving entrance/ warehouse hallway area: Employees were exposed to fire hazards while working at the receiving/ supermarket warehouse hallway area. The total quantity of LPG tanks stored at this area exceeds 200 pounds LP-Gas. Note for instances #1 & #2: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
