29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed:  (a)  The employer failed to protect employees from tripping and burn hazards by allowing exit routes  to be blocked. The exit route was obstructed by copy paper boxes and other similar boxes stacked in the exit route reducing the route to 11 inches.

29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times:  (a) In the back room, the employer did not maintain safeguards in proper working order in that an exit sign light was not properly working for illumination and failed to protect employees from tripping and burn hazards in an emergency.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(1): 29 CFR 1910.37(b): Each exit route was not adequately lighted so that an employee with normal vision can see along the exit route.  (a) In the back room, the employer did not ensure that the exit route was adequately lighted in the event of a power outage as the only illumination would be the exit sign light that was not properly working with a burned out bulb.  This condition fails to protect employees from tripping and burn hazards in an emergency.
