29 CFR 1910.219(p)(1): General. All power-transmission equipment shall be inspected at intervals not exceeding 60 days and be kept in good working condition at all times: Belvidere Assembly Plant, southwest, Chassis department, conveyor line A18B, automobile carriers: On August 16, 2016, required inspections of the chain and related power transmission components were not regularly performed within 60-days intervals to ensure safe operating condition. Overhead chain failure exposed "Door Assemblers" to being struck-by swinging automobile carriers and related-assembly equipment. "Telxon Test Inspectors," working inside vehicles, were exposed to internal injury from sudden and unexpected rapid forward movement and stopping of loaded automobile carriers. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
