29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):  Aerospace Defense Coating of Georgia-Eaton Room- Employees are required to clean airplane parts in a bucket that contained Methyl Propyl Ketone.  The employer had not accessed the workplace, trained employees on personal protective equipment, and did not ensure that employees used the long gloves to prevent splashing on the hands and skin.  Also, safety goggles were not required or enforced, on or about 8/26/2016.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

Aerospace Defense Coating of Georgia-Production Area- Employees are required to clean airplane parts in a bucket that contained Methyl Propyl Ketone.  The employer did not ensure that employees used the appropriate long gloves to prevent splashing on the hands and/or skin when reaching into the bucket, on or about 8/26/2016.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.1026(d)(2)(i): The employer using the scheduled monitoring option did not perform initial monitoring to determine the 8-hour time-weighted average exposure to chromium (VI) for each employee on the basis of a sufficient number of personal breathing zone air samples to accurately characterize full shift exposure on each shift, for each job classification, in each work area:   Aerospace Defense Coating of Georgia-Eaton Room- Employees are required to sand airplane parts that contain chromium (VI) and the employer had not monitored the job task, on or about 8/26/2016.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
