29 CFR 1910.24(i): "Vertical clearance." Vertical clearance above any stair tread to an overhead obstruction was not at least 7 feet measured from the leading edge of the tread: On or about August 30, 2016, there was a fixed staircase that lead to an elevated platform at line 41 in the consumer department. The staircase provides access to a service platform for the #2 sugar receivers. At the top of the staircase near the edge of the platform where the staircase attaches to the platform, there was a 5 inch diameter horizontal pipeline at 30 inches above the top stair tread and the platform edge. The horizontal pipeline is a restriction for access and egress to and from the service platform.

SMUCKERS WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR IT'S EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 925320, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1a AND WAS AFFIRMED AS FINAL ORDER ON NOVEMBER 27, 2013, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 1 STRAWBERRY LANE, ORRVILLE, OHIO 44667.
