29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) At 2845 East Chase Lane, Montgomery, Alabama: On or about October 11, 2016 and at times prior; the employer allowed his employee to perform framing work right next to the edge of the wall on the second floor without fall protection exposing him to a fall hazard of 9 feet 1 inch to the ground below. b) At 2845 East Chase Lane, Montgomery, Alabama: On or about October 11, 2016 and at times prior; the employer allowed his employees to perform framing work while standing on the top of a framed wall on the second floor without fall protection exposing him to a fall hazard of up to 21 feet 2 inches to the ground below. c) At 2845 East Chase Lane, Montgomery, Alabama: On or about October 11, 2016 and at times prior; the employer allowed his employees to perform framing work while standing on the top of a framed wall on the second floor without fall protection exposing him to a fall hazard of 9 feet 1 inch to the floor below.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed a) At 2845 East Chase Lane, Montgomery, Alabama: On or about October 11, 2016 and at times prior; the employer allowed his employee to use an extension ladder to gain access to the tops of the framed walls and the rails of the ladder did not extend three feet above the landing area to provide the employees safe access exposing his employees to a fall hazard of 9 feet 1 inch to the floor below. b) At 2845 East Chase Lane, Montgomery, Alabama: On or about October 11, 2016 and at times prior; the employer allowed his employee to use an a-frame ladder to gain access to the tops of the framed walls and the rails of the ladder did not extend three feet above the landing area to provide the employees safe access exposing his employees to a fall hazard of 9 feet 1 inch to the floor below.
