29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Head Saw Area: On or about November 8, 2016 machine guarding was not in place around the rotating bottom wheel of the band saw that was left operational while an employee was clearing a jam of wood debris on the vibrating conveyor. This hazard exposed the employee to contact with the high speed moving teeth of the saw blade.
