29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. 101 First Street, Pittsfield, MA: On or about December 1, 2016 employees were observed installing dormers on a commercial structure which was more than 15 feet above the next lower level and they were not protected by falls by guard rail systems, safety net systems or personal fall arrest systems: The Arlen Company Construction LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 966472, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 8, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 183 Sumner Street, Kingston, MA. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1).
