29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain programs which provided for frequent and regular inspections of the job site, materials and equipment to be made by a competent person(s): (a) On or about March 20, 2017, and at times prior, Meritage Homes of Colorado, Inc., as the controlling employer, did not ensure that employees of subcontractors G.R.C. Consulting, Inc., and EMK Consultants, Inc. were safe from health and safety hazards by conducting frequent and regular job site inspections by a competent person. Employees of subcontractors were exposed to excavation-related hazards, such as, but not limited to, cave-in hazards while working in an unprotected excavation deeper than 5 feet. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
