29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): When the employer had assessed the workplace hazard(s) and determined that hazard(s) were present, the employer did not select and/or use the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee from the hazard(s) identified:  (a)  The employer did not select and require the use of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee from exposure to burns, in that on April 20, 2017, when the employee was emptying a hot rinse tank with a submersible pump and a hose, the hose splashed the employee's face with 140-150 degree water.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
