29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:  a- Corner of 70 Madison Avenue & 7th Street, Lakewood NJ: Company employees, not using fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 12 feet to the ground surface below when working and walking at unprotected edges of a residential structure's second floor. These employees, along with the worksite company  Foreman, had not received fall hazard recognition training or complete fall protection training, as required by the standard, from the company prior to or at the time of the worksite inspection.  Condition noted on or about 05/03/17.    NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards:  a- Corner of 70 Madison Avenue & 7th Street, Lakewood NJ: Company employees, not using fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards in excess of 11 feet to the ground surface below when accessing and egressing the walking/working surface of a worksite using the fly section of an aluminum extension ladder that contained visbly damaged rungs, was missing feet, did not extend at least three feet above the walking/working surface, etc.  These employees, along with the worksite company  Foreman, had not received ladder hazard recognition training or ladder any ladder, as required by the standard, from the company prior to or at the time of the worksite inspection.
