29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) 3201 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA; On or about May 25, 2017, the employer allowed an employee to install a strut arm to the exterior of a building while sitting on an awning without wearing fall protection or having the edge protected by a guardrail system. The employee was approximately 10 feet above the ground.
