29 CFR 1926.502(h)(3): No employee, other than an employee engaged in roofing work [on low-sloped roofs] or an employee covered by a fall protection plan, shall be allowed in an area where an employee is being protected by a safety monitoring system. On or about June 14, 2017, Employees were performing roofing activities on a commercial site in Champaign, Illinois, and the safety monitor was in the area where employees were engaged in roofing work.

29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees were not protected by protective helmets while working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns: On or about June 14, 2017, An employee was exposed to the hazard of being struck in the head by falling materials and tools, and was not required to wear a hard hat while working underneath employees performing roofing activities. Bash Roofing Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 1926.100(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number: 1187168, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 8, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 708 W. Main Street, Urbana, IL 61801. Bash Roofing Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 1926.100(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number: 1064785, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on June 30, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 712 Park Lane Drive, Champaign, IL 61820.
