Where wet processes were used, drainage was not maintained: a) 80 Flagship Drive, North Andover, MA 01845 On or about July 19, 2017, the employer did not ensure that the floor in the central south plating room was maintained in a clean, and to the extent feasible, in a dry condition. The floor was coated with liquids used in the plating process, creating a surface that was slippery. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.1027(d)(3)(ii): The employer discontinued the monitoring based on readings taken that were not at least seven days apart: a) 80 Flagship Drive, North Andover, 01845, central south plating room, On or about July 19, 2017, the employer did not ensure that monitoring based on readings taken were at least 7 days apart. The employer conducted one sampling event for cadmium exposure, and did not perform a follow-up at least 7 days later. An employee conducing cadmium plating was exposed to cadmium at an 8-hour time-weighted average of 160 micrograms per cubic meter of air, approximately 32.682 times the Permissible Exposure Limit of 5 micrograms per cubic meter of air. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
