On or about August 11, 2017, employees on the ground below roofing operations were exposed to overhead hazards.  The employees were not wearing hardhats. 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.    a. On or about August 11, 2017, employees using pneumatic nail guns during roofing operations were exposed to flying particle hazards.  The employees were not wearing safety glasses.     There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.     a. On or about August 11, 2017, employees engaged in residential roofing activities were exposed to a fall hazard of up to approximately 18 feet.  Fall protection was not being utilized.      There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(8): Ladders placed in any location where they can be displaced by workplace activities or traffic, such as in passageways, doorways, or driveways, shall be secured to prevent accidental displacement, or a barricade shall be used to keep the activities or traffic away from the ladder.    a. On or about August 11, 2017, at the above referenced worksite, employees were required to access / egress a residential roof in the performance of their assigned duties. The ladder used by the employees was placed in a high traffic area, and at an angle greater than one-quarter of the working length of the ladder, without being secured to prevent displacement. Employees were thereby exposed to fall hazards of up to 18 feet.    There is no abatement documentation or certification required for this item.
