29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: (Construction Reference: 1926.59)  At a residential construction site located at 3631 Bell St in Kansas City, MO: Employees were exposed to harmful chemicals that could cause injuries and/or illnesses in that the employer had not developed, or implemented, a written hazard communication program. This was demonstrated at the residential construction site when 4 employees were dispensing gasoline that was used to power the  air compressor for the pneumatic nail guns.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation:  At a worksite located at 1236 Horizon Dr., Blue Springs, Missouri: Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards. Employees were observed using pneumatic nail guns without the use of protective eyewear.

29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iv): Flexible cords were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided to prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws:  At a worksite located at 1236 Horizon Drive, Blue Springs, MO: Employees were exposed to electrical shock hazards. Employees were using a portable circular saw being powered by an extension cord that had no visible strain relief.

Four employees were engaged in roofing work and were not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.
