29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Craftsman 15inch Drill Press: On or about August 17, 2017 and times prior, employees used the Craftsman 15inch Drill press, Model # 137.229250, Serial Number RHN46, to drill holes in clips and key holes in fabricated pieces. The rotating drill bit was not provided with a shield guard to prevent employee exposure to the flying chips and rotating parts.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed: a) On or about August 17, 2017 and times prior, employees performed servicing and maintenance activities such as equipment repairs, changing blades and greasing machines. The employer did not perform annual periodic inspections of the energy control program to ensure the requirements of the energy control standards are met.
