On or about September 7, 2017, in the facility, employees required to clean and sanitize food containers at the Prep Area were exposed to the hazard of skin and eye contact with a corrosive detergent when spraying the detergent onto the containers. The employer did not provide and ensure the employees used eye/face protection in the form of safety glasses and faceshields to protect against chemical exposure.

On or about September 4, 2017, the Prep Area, employees required to work with, a corrosive detergent, were not provided with suitable facilities for flushing of the eyes in that the portable eyewash was partially blocked by a pallet and was not completely filled with rinse solution. The eyewash could not provided appropriate flushing time in case an employee experienced an accidental splash to the eyes.

XanAsure, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of an equivalent Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.132(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1100448, citation number 01, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on March 3, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 380 Internationale Drive Suite C & D, Bolingbrook,IL .
